OGS Webinar: Using AncestryDNA with your Family History

On the first Thursday of every month, the Ontario Genealogical Society hosts an  education webinar.  This month, Lesley Anderson will be presenting a webinar entitled ‘Using AncestryDNA with your Family History’.   The presentation will begin at 7pm EST on May 3 and registration is required.

Lesley says: “Do you want to know about your personal story? Where your deep roots came from? Perhaps you are just curious to know what the results might be? Whatever your starting point AncestryDNA will reveal more of your own story and it’s amazingly helpful to genealogy research.

By capturing a person’s unique genetic data, AncestryDNA can provide customers with a break-down of their genetic ethnicity, as well as find genetic living cousins, confirm existing research and relationships and overcome brick walls or dead-ends in their family history research. When coupled with Ancestry’s billions of historical records, millions of family trees and strong member community, AncestryDNA will enable family enthusiasts and novices alike to discover even more about their own past!”

Call to Action: New Blog Series!

The NextGen Genealogy Network is excited to announce two new upcoming guest blog series and we are seeking contributions from our talented community.

#IamNextGen Spotlight

This blog series will focus on the varied community of NextGen bloggers.   Each month, we will highlight a different NextGen blogger/YouTuber.   This will include one of their own blog posts or Youtube videos, short biography and links to their various pages.

Starting your Genealogy Business

Many of us are interested in starting a genealogy business, but are clueless about where to start.   This guest blog series will feature articles from those who have already established their own genealogy business, as well as general business advice.   This will be an invaluable resource for future genealogy professionals.
